MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography
I did mention previously that this year will see new challenges and take me in a different direction. I guess now is the time to mention that I have been accepted into the rather prestigious MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at the University of the Arts in London.
I’d been working out what direction I wanted to go in with regards to photography and decided that whilst I was good at doing the fashion side, the thrill of shooting a story and showing people something they previously never knew, was just too strong to ignore.
The course itself is run by a brilliant team. Paul Lowe, who is the course director, is an award-winning freelance photographer and teacher living and working between Sarajevo and London. The benefit of having him as the course director is that he has worked the game, had countless images published by very well respected publications and is perfect to give someone like me the career shaping advice I need.

I’ve already been given an insight as to how hard this course will be, with a 3 story editorial assignment due by the 15th January. It’s been great shooting the three stories and one that’s really kicked my creative side back into action.
At the end of the year, students have the opportunity to show the work produced during the course when it is displayed in a gallery in London. You can see the level of work produced by everyone by visiting The Final Show site.

I’m at LCC at the moment doing the Grad Diploma course; and it’s a great place to study photography… I’m sure you’ll enjoy it and find it inspiring
The MA documentary course is really strong, with some amazing visiting tutors, I went to their final show in december when it was up in college, and I was very impressed, ones that particularly caught my eye:
